it seems like everyone forgot the guy was out there putting out how to rob about a year and a half ago. Everybody thought he was a little shithead who was going nowhere.
I give fifty an obscene amount of dap for what he's putting out. One record with Shady/Aftermath and his reputation has grown a million fold. The best business decision anyone could make.
To bust on him is like saying that web design is all for the art and love of it. Bullshit.
Hip hop started off the radio and continues off the radio. There's no difference now from "then". Pop music runs the media. Why are you surprised.
Besides all these "underground" cats have horrible beats and terrible attempts at "artisitc" rhyme schemes. You dis Em, but he'll fade 90% of the cats out there off the top.
And atmosphere fell off when he got dumped by his girl and cried about it for 2 albums.
Wake up you old fuckers, hip hop is changing and you're just getting old. Matter of fact, go back and bump your old Public Enemy and Beastie Boys.
To deny that 50's tracks and business meneuvers are hot is inevitable old age creeping up on you.

huh? wasn't this thread about how alot of us don't like 50cent nor his music... not about hiphop changing, fat cats, business deals or any of that other crap you flamed about.
no shit hip hop can be just about the money, so can any music, any film, any art... anything.

I want to listen to good music with soul, not money making image soaked transparent ass shite.
You could of stated how infact 50cent is just a bunch of people out to make a small fortune, and pulling it off perfectly. But no, hasty generalisations and insults spewed forth.

ok .. my apologies.. im drunk and just shook my ass to some 50 cent to be honest.
actaully, what happened this evening is that i watched 4 "mc's" battle with some of the worst shit i've heard in a in a long time, and then went on to a bar and really got into some tribe, some artifacts, then blended into 50's latest joint and i couldn't front. Shit was hot.
I suppose I'm tired of the holier than thou attitude I've been holding for 12 years as an ex-battle dj / hip hop head.. whateverist.
that was a rant to flip on a lot of heads including myself because i'm guilty of the same filth that i was pissed about in my heated and drunken moment.
but seriously, i've found it more mind numbing listening to people tell me about how much better hip hop was than it is now, when it's the same shit wit ha different beat.
Back then it was gin and juice and now it's kristal or whatever the fuck.. The primary difference is that payola is more acceptible these days.
